For Individuals and Duos

Consider and choose one of these ways to love and serve people:

Drive a group of teens from Evergreen Apartments to Westwood’s mid-week Junior High
program.

Share your talent or expertise with Evergreen Vista children. This is a relational ministry, giving
you a chance to meet and support some people in need.

Tutor a child who needs help with reading or math.

Become a greeter or host at the Family Support Shelter. This is a ministry to homeless families.

Visit an isolated senior on a regular basis. Offer friendship and support to someone who lives
alone, helping when you can.

Become a part of a team of 4-6 people who “prayer walk” and visit at Evergreen Vista
Apartments. These walks allow us to intersect with the people who live there and, in time, share
our life of faith with them. Westwood is developing a team of people to pray and plan quarterly
family nights at the complex.

Mentor a Quixote Village resident who has expressed a desire to walk beside someone, working
through life changes and making new choices.

Take the training and become an advocate for the homeless men and women that go to Side
Walk Advocacy Center. As an Advocate, you walk beside one person at a time as they access
community resources. You are free to share your faith as you would in any friendship.

If you are interested in getting more information on any of these “give and take” activities,
you can contact: Kathy D., kdreisbach@westwoodbaptist.com.
