| At Westwood it is our desire to help parents lead their children to a life of full devotion to God. After salvation, Baptism is the Next Step in this process. We know that some subjects are hard to explore with your children and that is why we have a class that will teach Baptism at your chilld's level. This class is geared for children 5 years old to 12 years old and will help children understand the need to be baptized. Here at Westwood, we believe that the Bible is clear that Baptism is not a part of the salvation process. This class will explore the topics of Salvation by faith, why we immerse, and the picture of Baptism. Practical advice will also be given with details about Westwood's Baptisms on Sundays. This Baptism class is held 4 times a year and is a requirement for children who want to be baptized at Westwood. Five children participated in our Baptism service on November 20, 2011 and another three children participated in our Baptism service on November 27, 2011. It was such a joy to share in this step of their faith. Our next class is scheduled for February 12, 2012. The class for adults will be held on a Sunday morning during the 9 a.m. service in room E4. The class for children will be held on a Sunday morning during the 10:30 a.m. service in room E14. Parents are welcome to attend with their children. Be prepared to give a short testimony to be recorded for use during the Baptism service. We will announce the date of the Baptism service as soon as it is approved and placed on the church calendar. All persons planning to participate in the Baptism Service are required to attend the Baptism class.
