Westwood Missions - "About" Missions

We desire to...

...stand with existing missioinaries who come out of Westwood and who do not have ready access to other centers for support.
...continue to stand with our sister church in Ukraine financially and with short-term mission opportunities.
...develop and implement UPG (Unreached People Group) strategy with the Kazakhs of Kazakhstan.
...prepare for the next "sent" missionary.
...support youth and adult short-term mission trips so Wstwood members can gain greater exposure to how the Lord is working in cross-cultural environments. Our ultimate goal is to mentor those youth or adults who demonstrate a call to long-term missions.

The purpose for Missions at Westwood has its foundation in God's Word.

...to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ. Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; John 20:21)
...to share Christ's heart for the world. (Matthew 9:36-38)
...to offer men and women an opportunity for salvation and bring them to a knowledge of God. (John 3:16; II Peter 3:9; Romans 10:13-15)
...to obey Christ by confessing Him to the world. (Matthew 10:32, 33; Romans 1:16; Acts 1:8)

...God is raising up and will continue to raise up individual fro mour congregration to serve as our sent missionaries.
...a high priority is to identify, mentor, train, and equip Westwood members who demonstrate a call from the Lord toward missions.
...the efficiency of our missions programs is dependent upon focusing our resources, both human and financial.
...our primary focus should be the unreached and under-reached areas of the world.
...we can affirm and consider support for those who are called out of our church body to go outside our focus area.
