BAMBOO IN WINTER

She was just back from the university.  With memories of Tiananmen Square still fresh in her mind, she now faced a new kind of revolution.  A revolution of the soul.

The Preacher has come to the village, bringing the Bible's life-changing message.  As she listens, she is edged closer to an eternal decision.  But in this atheistic communist society, the consequences of such a decision can be devastating.

Based on actual events now happening to the suffering house church in China, this thrilling drama will move viewers into a new sense of the power of faith in the face of oppression.    Gospel Films    58 minutes.

BEYOND THE NEXT MOUNTAIN

At the close of the 19th century, the British branded the Hmar people of northeast India as "the worst headhunters."  It was a label well deserved at the time.

But in 1910, a single copy of the Gospel of John came into this village and changed the course of history for the Hmar people.  The "headhunter to hearthunter" story is one of the most thrilling accounts in missionary annals, and it is a prototype for the ministry of Bibles for the World.

Through that single copy of John's Gospel, Chawnga, the father of Rochunga Pudaite was introduced to a revolutionary "new life in Christ."  He and a few tribesmen "forsook all and followed Christ."

Chawnga believed that Rochunga was God's chosen instrument to bring the Scriptures to the entire Hmar tribe in their own language.  Beyond the Next Mountain is the story of Rochunga's personal pilgrimage.  It is an unforgettable saga of his dedication to a vision and of the Lord's direction in his life.

The original movie, a 1981 Silver Angel Award, was filmed in India, Hawaii, Scotland and America.  It is a beautiful and exciting film which the entire family will enjoy.

The fact that "new life in Christ" could belong to the Hmar tribe as well as to the world inspired Rochunga and his wife Mawii to establish Bibles for the World in 1973.

Four Faces

Infidels, counter-revolutionaries, human rights victims, statistics, heroes; different people call them different things.  We call them family.

From Sudan to Indonesia, Saudi Arabia to Vietnam, Christians face some of the worst persecution since the days of the apostles.  This live video footage chronicles first-person accounts of the suffering Church in four countries.

Filmed on location, Four Faces provides a passport into some of the most restrictive nations on earth.  Divided into four segments, the film can be viewed in whole or in part and is appropriate for individuals, families, Bible studies, and churches.

Glad Sacrifice

Gospel for Asia presents the awesome potential for reaching the most unreached people in Asia with the Good News of Jesus Christ through its own people, native missionaries.

Over 80% of the Asian nations are restricted or closed to Western missionaries.  Yet, most of the 2.7 billion people in the world who have never once heard the gospel live in these closed countries.  Glad Sacrifice answers the question -- How will they be reached?

This challenging video reveals startling facts behind Asia's exotic religions and the real cause of much of Asia's poverty and struggle.  Follow M. Paulose, a native missionary in India, who daily risks his life in a hostile area to share the gospel with lost souls.

See the Great Commission being accomplished behind the closed doors of Asia by the sacrificial work of a great native missionary army called by God to reap a mighty harvest.

Gospel for Asia, founded by K.P. Yohannan, is a mission organization supporting thousands of native missionaries in several Asian countries committed to seeing that the most unreached people in Asia hear the gospel.

Inn of the Sixth Happiness

Ingrid Bergman stars in this "spectacularly mounted, impressively acted and directed picture" (Variety) based on the true life story of Gladys Aylward, a modern day saint whose unquenchable passion to do good took her halfway around the world.

Inspired by her dream to be a missionary, an English parlor maid (Bergman) journeys to China and opens an inn for tired hungry mule drivers crossing desolate mountain trails.  Gradually overcoming the natives' hostility, she wins the heart of a Eurasian colonel (Curt Jurgens) and converts a powerful mandarin (Robert Donat) to Christianity.  But her greatest feat is achieved during the Japanese invasion of China when she leads one hundred homeless children to safety across enemy-held terrain.

Powerful and poignant, this inspired film was adapted from Alan Burgess' bestseller THE SMALL WOMAN.    158 minutes.

Jesus for Children

This is the story of Jesus as seen through the eyes of children who might have lived during the time Jesus lived on the earth.  Follow the lives of Benjamin, Caleb, Sarah, Joel, Leah and  Nathan, living in Jerusalem about A.D. 30.

Hear the stories of the Man from Nazareth who heals the sick and raises the dead.  They struggle to make sense of it all; some from families who believe Jesus is the Son of God, others from families who do not.  They watch Jesus from the crowds.  They follow Him to see what this incredible man, who loves children, will do next.  They see him betrayed, wrongly accused, crucified, and buried.  But, they remember the promise of Jesus and believe they will see Him again.

Children of all ages will enjoy this captivating retelling of the true story of Jesus from a child's perspective.    62 minutes.

Ordinary People -- Extraordinary Love

What does it mean to adopt a people?  Who are unreached peoples?  Is adoption of an unreached people right for my church?  Ordinary People -- Extraordinary Love answers these and many other questions in a brisk-paced look at the triumphs and trials of representative North American churches who embrace the challenge of adopting an unreached people.  Featured are Animist, Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim peoples adopted by diverse congregations and fellowships small, large, main line, charismatic, affluent and struggling.  Adopters are from the East coast to the West, North to South and points in between.

See how the Body of Christ is again finding unity and renewed purpose as servants to those who have never had an opportunity to hear the gospel; meeting their needs and seeking to plant churches among them in answer to the plea of AD2000 & Beyond Movement, "A church for every people and the gospel for every person by the year 2000."

Peace Child

Filmed in the unspoiled jungles of the Southwest Pacific, Peace Child dramatically portrays the startling reaction of stone-age people to the gospel.

Don and Carol Richardson respond to the call of Christ.  Careful preparation for their mission and a journey by dug-out canoe bring them to a remote rain forest inhabited by some of the world's most primitive people.  Painstakingly, they learn the language only to be shocked when Judas' betrayal of Jesus makes him a hero to a people whose highest attribute is to be masters of treachery.

Then inter-tribal warfare breaks out.  The battles continue until a warring chief offers his son as a means of bring lasting peace.  The primitive tribal custom makes the gospel understandable.  Lives are changed.  A church appears.

Peace Child is an exceptional film blending ferocious inter-tribal warfare, expert cinematography, and Christian compassion in a dramatic re-creation of a classic missions success story.    30 minutes    (This film contains some brief nudity in the native fashion.)
