Bible Verse:  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” Prov. 3: 5
Our MWF Class family is growing! Justin is now a big brother to baby Jessie. Daniel is a big brother to baby Levi.  Judah from our T/Th class is also a proud big brother to a new baby boy.  Congratulations!

Science Themes:
Feelings:   During the month of March we learned that it feels great to help others!  We gave our money to help children get clean water. We want to thank you for all of your support and together we were able to raise $109!
We also talked about our many different feelings and that they can change from one moment to the next.

Firefighters:   Our visit from the firefighters was very informative.  The T-Thurs. class toured the truck and talked about the safety equipment they use to fight fires.
During circle time we discussed fire safety, calling 911 and why we need to get down and crawl if there is smoke.  We also talked about what to do if our clothes catch on fire. Stop, Drop and Roll.
A field trip to the Mclane Fire Station with the older class was also a great experience as the children learned about what firefighters wear to fight a fire and how quickly they need to dress to get to a fire. While we were there the fire alarm went off and we were able to see how quickly the firefighters left the station to help someone in need.

Pajama and Pancakes: This week entailed delicious pancakes, songs, and a parade in our pajamas.  We discussed the importance of a healthy breakfast and getting our sleep.
This was also the week we taught about the last supper with Jesus and his disciples. Mrs. Forbes showed the children how Jesus washed his disciple’s feet to show us how to serve others.

Healthy Teeth:   Next was our theme of Healthy Teeth. We are so thankful for Dr. Nielsen and his staff who encouraged the children to take good care of their teeth.  He gave them each a bag of floss, a new toothbrush, and a sticker.  The older class was able to visit the dental office and demonstrated how the different tools work to keep our teeth clean.

Flowers:    You may have noticed our room change into a spring décor.  We opened up a flower shop in the drama area and planted flowers with the children.  We talked about the different parts of a flower and what they need to grow.
This is also the time of year Mrs. Forbes explains to the children the great news of the Easter Story and how Jesus died on the cross and rose again the third day. The children are learning what a wonderful sacrifice He is for all of us.

Funny Story….. Mrs. Forbes was explaining to the children what a wonderful thing it is to follow Jesus.   One boy raised his hand and said he would follow Jesus….all the way to the park.
After Spring Break we will be discussing all parts of the weather, Zoo Animals, and Fish.

Blessings,
Mrs. Montgomery
