WESTWOOD BAPTIST PRESCHOOL
Loving To Learn and Learning To Love
August 2014

We have prepared some fun themes for our 2014-2015 school year!

First, as always, it is our goal to provide a loving, safe and healthy learning environment for our students. Second is to help them to be Kindergarten ready. We do this by providing hands on, preschool-geared, learning fun.

At our science circle time we learn about our theme of the week, sing songs, say the Pledge of Allegiance, talk about shapes, numbers & letters, and we learn a phonics song.  We also talk about our weather and the children help decide what “Mr. Weather Bear” wears for the day.  The leader of the day brings show and tell, and helps teacher with other things.

At our second circle time we hear Bible stories, learn about God’s love, and how He has created each one special and with purpose.  We talk about kindness, self-control, patience, helping others, sharing etc…  Our Betty Lukens, flannel graphics are a great visual to hold a young ones attention. ☺

As opportunities arise each day, we are sure to find some good teaching moments. We will also guild the children to be problem solvers in both conflicts with others, and as they explore various learning centers.

Our Parent/Teacher Nights are September 8 for the MWF class and September 9 for the T/TH class, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The 1st day of school is September 10 for the MWF class and September 11 for the T/TH class
At this time, both classes are full but we do have a waiting list if you are interested in our preschool.
