We believe that the meaning of life is found in a vital, personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. So our motto is:

The vision of Westwood Baptist Church is to work together under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scriptures to produce fully-developing disciples and a growing congregation that are passionately committed to loving God and loving people.
It is our desire that we be known as a church exhibiting:
FAITH: the active pursuit of obedience to God’s Word.
HOPE: confidently resting in the character and promises of God.
LOVE: joyously using one’s resources to take the initiative to meet the needs of another person.

Send out 20 home-grown missionaries.
Develop over 201 Westwood Communities. (i.e. Home Teams).
Plant 2 new churches.
Establish over 2,010 developing disciples.

The purposes of this church shall be:
To provide for the worship of God, the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, to administer the ordinances of the New Testament.
To provide for the preaching of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ
To know God through Jesus Christ and make Him known, so we will…
Exalt God by exchanging our lives and purposes for His, and by expressing His greatness through our words and actions. Romans 12:1-2.
Encourage everyone in relational communities where we mutually grow as followers of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 10:24-25
Establish everyone in the truth of God’s Word, so that God’s Spirit may transform our lives to reflect God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:6-7
Equip everyone for service so that each is enabled to contribute to the health and mission of the church through effective use of our spiritual gifts. Ephesians 4:11-16
Evangelize our community and our world, by demonstrating and communicating the Good News of Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8

The membership of this church shall consist of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who have been immersed (baptized), acknowledged substantial agreement with the faith, practice, and covenant of this church, and have been received into the fellowship by regular action of the church.
Any person may become a member of this church by recommendation of the pastor and the Elder Council, followed by a vote of the church to accept.
Candidates may be recommended upon:
Confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, and baptism by immersion.
Statement when person(s) are unable to provide a letter but who give satisfactory evidence of their profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and baptism by immersion.
